10,000 HOURS of PIANO PRACTICE CHALLENGE

Note…this post has been edited for clarification.

10,000 HOURS of PIANO PRACTICE CHALLENGE (in one weekend)

Here’s a fun practice challenge for all pianists. We all need a little inspiration, at times. You may even be able to win a $500 gift!

They say it takes 10,000 hours to be good at something like playing the piano. Let’s see if we practice 10,000 hours in ONE MARATHON WEEKEND, Saturday, January 18 and Sunday, January 19, 2014.

Since there will be people from all over the world participating in this event, there was a need to clarify the rules. Please keep track of your hours practiced from MIDNIGHT FRIDAY until MIDNIGHT SUNDAY no matter what time zone you’re in. Add your total numbers of hours practiced on this post in the comments field at the bottom of this post. Our goal is to have more than 10,000 hours logged in during this time. If there are many pianists participating, we’ll make the goal easily. Fewer will mean you’ll have to practice more! Practice pledges are not allowed – ONLY ACTUAL HOURS, please! To make sure we meet our 10,000 hour goal, please SHARE THIS POST or EMAIL THIS to all your piano friends and contacts.

Here’s how to “join” the challenge:
